LOTD: Makeup Geek Shadows

Please forgive the air-drying, carefree hair of mine! Haha I decided to add to my Makeup Geek collection and above are the new shades in my new Z-Palette before I added the ones I've had. I used Cupcake on my brow bone, Twilight on my lid, Drama Queen in the outer one-third and crease, and used In the Spotlight as a highlight, which I already had. I'm also trying a new mascara because I needed a waterproof one. It's Covergirl Flamed Out. I'm liking that it stays put but I miss the fullness Too Faced Better Than Sex gave me. I'm always on the lookout for the perfect mascara! Aren't we all?! Which mascaras are you loving?

LOTD: Independence Day

Happy Independence Day!!! My love for America can't really be put into words but it swells in my heart as I experience all the carefree moments that I am able to enjoy because of the liberty this country possesses thanks to so many sacrifices made by others!

In patriotic fashion, I present you with my Independence Day look, a navy smoky eye:

For any eyeshadow look I always start with Urban Decay Primer Potion! I used Nooner as a blending shadow (UDN3), Downfall as a base (UDV3), Reign on the inner and outer thirds (UDV3), Houdini on entire lid (MUG), Center Stage on entire lid (MUG), Unbridled (LORAC UNZIPPED) blended above blue shadows into Nooner, Magic Act in a triangle shape just above my iris (MUG), Heroine (UDV3) pat on the outer side of Magic Act, Evidence (UD Smoked) pat on the inner side of Magic Act with In the Spotlight (MUG) as a highlight below brows and in then inner corner of my eyes. I finished off this look with eyeliner, mascara, my usual face makeup, filling in my brows, and Bite Beauty Luminous Crème Lipstick in Pomegranate.

Thanks for reading! I hope you're all enjoying the freedoms of this country with your loved ones!

Everyday Look Using Makeup Geek Foiled Shadows

I'm finally getting around to posting this go-to look I've been doing since I got the Makeup Geek set for my birthday as a gift from the BFF. Here's the look:

To get this look I pat Grandstand all over my lids and up into the crease, Showtime in the outer half of my lids, Mesmerized in the outer third and crease, and In The Spotlight as a highlight below my brows and in the tear duct area. It's as simple as that! :)

Vibrant Makeup Geek Look

In an attempt to learn more about how these eyeshadows can be used straight from the creator, I followed Marlena's look. This was what I came up with:

As you can tell, mine wasn't nearly as bright as hers, but I think I did fairly well for someone who doesn't normally use so many bright colors in one look. I liked how mermaid/iridescent it turned out looking. I think this look will be great for spring. And hey, maybe I'll make it brighter next time as I get more brave! :)

Haul: Birthday

A few weeks ago I had a birthday and the BFF gave me the greatest gift I think I've ever received! We recently discovered Makeup Geek on YouTube and have done some research regarding the product line. There was an overwhelming buzz about the foiled eyeshadows and before we could click on the link to buy them, they were sold out! Well, that didn't stop Caitlyn, she kept checking back, (had a slight hiccup with getting them delivered) and completely surprised me with the ENTIRE set of 10 and a Z-Palette to put them in. I have used them everyday this week! I am loving all the colors! Caitlyn coined them as "Haley colors" and I think she's right!

Check back tomorrow for a look I recreated following Marlena's tutorial! I will post some pictures of my own looks soon!
